Yet again this year, Andreana Bugazzi owner of the Azienda Agricola Baraccone, hosted an educational event organised on behalf of IN+VITE by Vinidea’s founder and president Gianni Trioli.
The day started at the secondary school of Ponte dell’Olio where a group of 37 pupils, led by their teachers, followed Gianni through the streets of Ponte dell’Olio and then up a steep hill to the Baraccone winery estate, where a generous serving of focaccia was awaiting them.
At this point, Gianni and Andreana, assisted by Riccardo Collivasone of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore proceeded to explain to the group of young students the role that water has on the land and its impact on the soil.
At the end of a well-deserved break, the pupils got to experience first-hand the practice of suckering, an operation to remove suckers from the trunk of the vines, which typically takes place during the spring period.
IN+VITE will see the young students return to the vineyards in September, where Andreana, Gianni and Riccardo will show them some of the activities related to harvesting.
